I'm not really in the business of selling vintage clothes, but occasionally I need to clear space in the closet so here is where I'll be adding the odd piece from my own personal collection that I have built up over the years for research purpose, or that I have discovered on my treasure hunts in charity shops and flea markets and have no space for.
** I will be passing on all proceeds (minus PayPal fees and shipping cost) from sale of the original vintage items to various good causes. The proceeds from this item will be donated to Refugee Action UK, a charity helping to resettle refugees in the UK **
Gorgeous original vintage (1920s to 1940s at a guess) fringed piano shawl, in jet black silk with vibrant floral embroidery in shades of red, pink and green.
It was used in our 'Frida Kahlo' inspired shoot. The first images shows the shawl being worn, and the third one shows it in the background.
The shawl is in excellent condition, with no fading, wear or damage to the silk, apart from a couple of small surface 'smudge' marks, which are so minor and difficult to see they proved impossible to photograph, and are really not visible at all when the shawl is worn.
The fringing of silk floss is all securely in place and in really excellent smooth untangled condition on all four sides of the shawl.
The silk embroidery (of predominantly shades of red, with green foliage) covers one half of the shawl, so it is fully displayed when folded diagonally.
Dimensions; 115cms by 115cms square, plus fringe length of 55cms
